Ty Simpson Breaks Silence After Inking New Two-Year Contract with Alabama

Tuscaloosa, AL – In a highly anticipated move, Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson has officially broken his silence following the signing of a new two-year contract extension that will keep him in Tuscaloosa through the 2026 season. The extension comes after a season in which Simpson showed flashes of brilliance while competing for the starting role under head coach Nick Saban.

Simpson, a former five-star recruit from Westview, Tennessee, joined Alabama in 2022 as one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the nation. After spending his freshman year learning behind Bryce Young, the 2023 season saw Simpson split time with Jalen Milroe, competing for the starting job as Alabama experienced a changing of the guard at the position. While Milroe eventually took the reins, Simpson’s potential was evident, and many pundits believed he could eventually take over as the face of the program.

The new contract extension, confirmed by sources within the Alabama athletic department, represents a significant vote of confidence in Simpson’s ability to lead the Crimson Tide. The terms of the deal are not fully disclosed, but it is believed to include performance incentives based on the team’s success and individual achievements.

In an exclusive interview following the announcement, Simpson expressed his excitement about the opportunity to continue his journey with one of college football’s most prestigious programs. “I’m beyond grateful for the trust that Coach Saban and the entire staff have shown in me,” Simpson said. “Alabama is a special place, and I’m honored to be a part of this program for the next few years. I’ve learned so much from the coaches, my teammates, and the fans, and I’m excited to keep growing and help lead this team to success.”
