Suspicious package investigated at State Office Building in Topeka…

 

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating after a suspicious package was reported.

Just after 5a.m. Friday, crews responded to the Landon State Office Building, 900 Southwest Jackson Street in downtown Topeka, according to a media release.

The Topeka Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials team investigated the package. Before 6a.m., investigators determined the package was not dangerous

In addition to the Topeka Fire Department and Topeka Police Department, the Capitol Police, a division of the Kansas Highway Patrol also assisted at the scene.  There were no injuries reported. Authorities released no additional details
