Coventry City’s new signing, Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a serious back injury. The 27-year-old winger, who joined Coventry last summer from Belgian club KV Oostende, has been a key player for the Sky Blues this season, making 33 appearances and scoring six goal.
Sakamoto sustained the injury during Coventry’s 3-0 loss to Preston North End. Coventry’s manager, Mark Robins, confirmed the news, expressing his concern for Sakamoto’s recovery while emphasizing the importance of his well-being over the immediate impact on the team.
This injury is a significant setback for Coventry, who are currently striving to secure a playoff spot in the Championship. Despite this blow, the team remains focused on their goals for the season, with hopes that Sakamoto will return stronger next year
