Florida cornerback set to sign a mind blowing deal with Louisville cardinals

Jacksonville, Fla., Ed White High School defensive back Joshua Patterson has a long list of more than two dozen scholarship offers.

The list has several Power 5 programs, including Louisville.

On Thursday, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Patterson was able to make an unofficial visit to check out the Cardinals. Patterson spent time with the U of L staff and players, watched a spring practice and was able to check out the facilities.

It was not the ending that Unversity of Louisville women’s basketball coach Jeff Walz was looking for in Baton Rouge, La.

Trying to extend its nation-long streak of appearances in the NCAA Tournament to six, Louisville wasn’t able to get out of the first round for the first time in the Walz era. The turnovers and long scoring droughts that plagued the team all season long ended up ending the season.

Middle Tennessee scored a 71-69 victory and ended the Cardinals season at 24-10.

But it didn’t take long for the focus to turn to next season. In the post game news conference, Walz and the returning players were asked about next season and the motivation they can take out of the disappointing finish to this season.

“I’ll start with that – it sucks,” Walz said. “There’s no other way to put it. We have had a ton of success here in post-season play. This is not what we’re used to. I’ll take the responsibility for that. I mean, I’ve got to get back to doing things the way I’ve done ’em in the past. I’ve got to challenge them more. I’ve got to get them in shape
