Report: Bayern Munich are showing serious interest in Spurs target

La Repubblica (as relayed by Calciomercato) have handed Tottenham a blow in their pursuit of Albert Gudmundsson by revealing that Bayern Munich are now extremely keen on securing the Genoa attacker.

The report makes it clear that a big move is on the cards for Gudmundsson this summer and that Genoa will not stand in his way but the Serie A club have no intention of letting the forward leave on the cheap.

It is explained that the Italian side are refusing to budge from their demands of €35m (£30m) as interest in the player’s services continues to intensify.

Bayern Munich enter race for Albert Gudmundsson

The report claims that Bayern have now become the latest club to join the queue to sign Gudmundsson, with the Bavarian side said to have made advances in the ‘last few hours’.

Meanwhile, it is alleged that the ‘English track seems to be cooling down’ as Tottenham and West Ham ‘remain in the sidelines’ for now in the race for the Iceland international, although neither London club have abandoned their pursuit.

The publication adds that the 26-year-old would prefer to remain in Italy and this encourages Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli, who remain keen on securing the Genoa star.
