Shocking: New York’s top profile player signs with rival.

The New York Giants lost arguably their best player, Saquon Barkley, in this years free agency, and to make matters even worse, they lost him to their arch rival the Philadelphia Eagles. Giants head coach Brian Daboll addressed the loss of a Saquon  and he was clear about he felt about him going to their rival the Eagles in the media.

While many fans and previous players, were hammering Barkley’s decision to join their arch rival, head coach Brian Daboll shared that he has nothing but respect for Saquon. The coach spoke on the free agency move and was clear about he felt about Barkley after his decision to go to a division rival.

“This is what it is every year in the NFL. You meet great people, whether it’s coaches, players, staff members, and unfortunately everybody doesn’t stick together the entire time, it’s not what it was 30, 40 years ago,” Daboll told the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

“I’ve got a tremendous amount of respect for Saquon and all the players that went on to other places. It’s a special group when you’re going through an NFL season, you’ve got to go through ups and downs. Wish him all the best except when he is playing the Giants.”

Brian Daboll Will Be Seeing Saquon Barkley Twice A Year.

While the head coach was clear about his respect for his former player, he will now have to face Barkley twice for the next few seasons, barring anything crazy. Barkley will clearly have extra motivation to play well against his former team after years of contract talks falling through.

Barkley will now have a much better offensive line and offense as a while, and while his usage rate may go down a little, his overall production should be at an all time high with his new team. The New York Giants however, will continue to struggle it seems.
