SHOCKING: Broncos Head has released a shocking statement that he is set to…
Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters makes statement after worrying footage of Reece Walsh.
Broncos coach Kevin Walters has copped criticism for his decision to not substitute Reece Walsh off the field until very late in Saturday night’s 34-10 victory over the Wests Tigers.
The superstar fullback gave fans reasons for concern during various moments in the second half, looking to be in some discomfort on the pitch.
Walsh struggled to his feet while making tackles, was seen vomiting after scoring his second try and was also seen grabbing at his calf and knee with what looked like a cramp.
Despite this, the Queensland No. 1 remained on the pitch until very late in the match.
Walters assured footy fans that Walsh was fine and had not suffered any serious injuries.
‘He (Walsh) had vomiting first and then he had the cramps,’ Walters said.
‘He had every injury known to man tonight, but he’s OK, he’ll be right for next week, so that’s a good thing.’
Adam Reynolds was also struggling towards the end of last night’s match too, coming off in the 77th minute with cramps.
Jock Madden will go for scans on his pectoral injury as star duo Selwyn Cobbo and Ezra Mam race the clock to be fit for the Broncos’ grudge clash with the Sydney Roosters.
Madden, playing five-eighth, left the field in the 61st minute of Saturday night’s 34-10 win over Wests Tigers in Campbelltown.
He will have scans on Monday to asses the scale of any damage.
Centre Cobbo (shoulder) and Brisbane’s regular No.6 Mam (finger) missed the Tigers clash.
The pair will train on Tuesday when their injuries will be assessed ahead of Friday night’s showdown with the Roosters at Suncorp Stadium.
