Kirk Campbell says Michigan football ‘cant rush’ QB decision
One of the biggest decisions facing the Michigan football team in fall camp is who will be the starting quarterback?
Offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell addressed that and other things on Tuesday as the battle for the starting job gets underway for real on Wednesday as fall camp begins.
Campbell said that Michigan football didn’t want to rush the decision.
“What I’ve learned from all of those is you have a deadline that you have to make a decision, and that’s the first game, or you want to depending on the season. But you don’t want to rush the decision. You’ve got to make sure you prepare those guys and if you make the decision too early, you can put yourself in a situation where halfway through the season, you’re trying to fix that thing and go in a different direction,” Campbell said via The Wolverine. “You want to make sure that you take your time, you do a thorough process, and evaluate each practice and meeting. Evaluate how they interact with the players and then make the best decision for the team.”
There are a few candidates for the job. Michigan football has five scholarship quarterbacks: Alex Orji, Jack Tuttle, Davis Warren, Jayden Denegal, and Jaydn Davis.
