SHOCK: Badgers loses another top center back to…
The Badgers have lost one of their top cornerbacks in the 2025 class.
The Wisconsin Badgers faced some disappointing news on Monday, as 2025 four-star cornerback Rukeem Stroud flipped his commitment to the UCF Knights, he announced.
Stroud, a native of Tampa, Florida, had recently been offered by UCF, and the hometown draw ultimately won out here after the four-star initially chose Wisconsin over South Florida earlier this month.
The Badgers had done well to get another cornerback from Florida, pushing hard in the spring for Stroud, which resulted in a quick commitment in June after his official visit.
But, UCF’s recent offer prompted a tough decision for Stroud, who will now stay closer to home for his collegiate career.
Over his recruitment, Stroud had picked up 28 scholarship offers, including ones from Penn State, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Utah, among others.
But, the offers from Florida schools hadn’t really come, with Florida A&M and South Florida being the two lone scholarships before UCF came calling.
With Stroud’s de-commitment, the Badgers now have Jahmare Washington as their lone corner in the 2025 class, although athletes Jaimier Scott and Remington Moss could both earn opportunities at the position.
Additionally, the Badgers are still pursuing SMU three-star commit Zadian Gentry and uncommitted in-state four-star Tre Poteat with hopes of adding to their secondary.
But, this one serves as a blow for the Badgers, who now have 20 commits in their 2025 class.
