COLUMBUS, Ohio — Former Ohio State wideout Michael Thomas was released by the Saints on Wednesday, officially ending his eight-year tenure with New Orleans.

Thomas was cut with a failed physical designation, and will be released as a post-June 1 transaction, which means they’ll be able to spread some of the salary cap burden from his contract into 2025.

He has suffered through a few injury-laden seasons with the Saints, including a knee injury that ended last season in November. He has played in just 22 games the last four seasons, mostly due to an ankle injury.
