SAD NEWS: Motherwell FC young blood threatened to leave if…

Motherwell striker Theo Bair ‘wanted’ by Bundesliga newcomers

The Canadian striker is also reportedly on the radar of three English clubs

Bundesliga newcomers St Pauli have expressed an interest in Motherwell striker Theo Bair, according to reports.

The Canadian striker scored 15 goals in the Premiership last season and is out of contract next summer, but is believed to be a target also for English Championship clubs Sunderland, Blackburn Rovers and Cardiff City.

Bristol Rovers were also interested, but ruled out a move last month as they need a ‘different type of striker’.

And German publication Die Bild claim that St Pauli lead the chase for the 24-year-old

St Pauli last season returned to the Bundesliga for the first time in 13 years with a last-day win that sealed the Bundesliga 2 title.

On speculation linking Bair with a move away from Fir Park, Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell said: “I would love to keep him at the club because I feel that he is just getting better and better.

“I feel he is really learning his trade and enjoying his football.

“He is loving everything about playing here at Motherwell and leading the line.

“When you look across world football, there is not a whole lot of number nines that play with his stature, his pace, his ability to play with his back to goal, and then the finishing prowess he is starting to show.”
