Sixers vs. Bucks: Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Injury Report Status

Every matchup between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers is typically must-see hoops, considering each team employs one of the NBA’s biggest stars. Unfortunately, Thursday’s game between Philly and Milwaukee will lack its total star power.

It’s well known that Sixers center Joel Embiid is not able to play at the moment. After suffering a knee injury in a late January matchup against the Golden State Warriors, Embiid was ruled out for an undisclosed amount of time.

He remains in recovery through mid-March, and still doesn’t have a return date targeted. Embiid isn’t the only All-Star big man on the injury report for Thursday’s game. On Milwaukee’s side, they have the former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo on the injury report as he deals with left hamstring soreness. Lately, Antetokounmpo has been healthy and available for the Bucks. Over the last four games, He’s averaged nearly 36 minutes on the court.

During that stretch, he averaged 30 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. The last time Antetokounmpo missed a game for the Bucks was back on March 4, when they hosted the Los Angeles Clippers. Prior to that, Antetokounmpo appeared in 20-straight games. While Antetokounmpo’s presence isn’t guaranteed on Thursday night, he has a solid chance of playing despite getting downgraded. Currently, the Greek Freak is considered probable to play in the matchup.

The Sixers and the Bucks have met twice already this season. Back in October, Antetokounmpo produced 23 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists in 35 minutes of action as the Bucks defeated the 76ers to start the year off on the right foot. A few weeks back, Antetokounmpo and the Bucks paid a visit to the Sixers in South Philly.
