Tigers right-handed pitcher Reese Olson exits the game against the Toronto Blue Jays after two innings due to a shoulder discomfort

Detroit Tigers pitcher Reese Olson had to leave his game against the Blue Jays on Saturday after pitching for two innings because of discomfort in his right shoulder.

During his brief outing, Olson managed to escape jams in both innings with double-play ground balls, keeping the Blue Jays from scoring. He gave up one hit and issued two walks while throwing 30 pitches, 16 of which were strikes.

In the third inning, right-hander Alex Faedo took over for Olson.

Before leaving the game, Olson was aiming for his fourth consecutive win. He had won his last three starts against Cincinnati, Cleveland, and the White Sox before the All-Star break. This came after a tough start to the season where he went 0-5 in his first nine outings.

Olson, who is 24 years old and in his second season in the major leagues, has a record of 4 wins and 8 losses with a 3.30 ERA in 18 starts this season, all with the Tigers.
