JUST IN: I want to leave, LSU Tigers Star makes decision.
LSU backup tight end Connor Gilbreath announced Wednesday he entered the transfer portal.
Gilbreath, a junior from California, spent one season at LSU after starting his career at Butte College. He has two more seasons of eligibility.
A blocking tight end at LSU, Gilbreath appeared in every game last year. He played 56 snaps, primarily in short-yardage situations when LSU used multiple tight ends.
Gilbreath was behind junior starter Mason Taylor, sophomore Mac Markway and sophomore Ka’Morreun Pimpton on the spring depth chart. LSU this summer will add Trey’Dez Green, the No. 1 tight end recruit in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports composite.
Gilbreath became the third LSU player to enter the transfer portal this spring, joining edge rusher Jaxon Howard and wide receiver Khai Prean.
