FLASH: Ipswich town have agreed 4 years contract with an English talented goalkeeper, deal on the final…

Ipswich Town are gearing up for a Premier League return this summer.

Kieran McKenna’s side surprised many by finishing 2nd in the Championship last season and securing back-to-back promotions in spectacular fashion.

The jump up will be big, but there’s optimism surrounding Portman Road that once again they can defeat the odds and adapt to the demands of the top flight.

Rushworth, 22, spent last season on loan at Swansea City. The young Englishman appeared in each of the 46 second tier games last season for the Swans, keeping nine clean sheets during the campaign.

He has had spells in League One and League Two over the two seasons prior and he could finally be getting his chance in the Premier League.

Nixon is reporting that Vaclav Hladky could be on the way out at Portman Road and McKenna has identified Rushworth as a new number one to replace him.

The report states Ipswich Town could either loan or buy him from the Seagulls this summer.

Rushworth has been patient and appears to be on the brink of getting the chance he deserves.

At just 22-year-old he has racked up well over 100 senior appearances at three different clubs. He is yet to have a chance to prove himself in the top flight but his talent is clear to see and should he fulfill his potential, then Ipswich Town could be getting their hands on a very tidy shot stopper.
