DONE DEAL: Patriots have successfully sealed the deal of a top Veteran..
The New England Patriots officially have their 2024 draft class locked up.
Ja’Lynn Polk signed his rookie contract on Thursday. The wide receiver was a second-round pick out of Washington. The news comes two days after Polk had his best practice during minicamp.
After a relatively quiet OTAs, Polk caught two touchdowns during 7-on-7 drills and showed positive progression before the Patriots break until training camp begins next month.
“Oh man, I think the good thing about a lot of our young guys is they’re understanding what we’re asking them to do, Polk, for example, he made so many plays in the red zone today – like big, strong catches,” veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett told reporters Tuesday. “That’s what we need him to do and he’s starting to do that on a consistent basis. His level in this offense is going up.”
Patriots coach Jerod Mayo also praised Polk for putting in extra work.
Polk will be tasked with filling a void the Patriots had at wide receiver, and he’ll look to have a strong training camp as he tries to make an impact on the team in Year 1.
