West Brom are rigidly sticking to the £2.1million termination clause in Carlos Corberan’s contract as Las Palmas join the race for the Spaniard, according to Marca.

Though the £2.1million termination clause in his current contract looks to have done enough to swerve Las Palmas’ interest, the top-flight riches afforded to Leicester could give them the ability to meet it.

Corberan departing would send the Albion’s promotion hopes back to square one just before the start of pre-season, leaving behind a depleted squad that has already seen five first-team players released [Sabah].

Patel’s first transfer window as Baggies’ owner is now shaping up to be all the more vital, and if he wants to remain dining near the Championship’s top table, he must do everything he can to keep Corberan in the fold.
