DECISION MADE: Officially West Brom has parted ways with Carlos Corberan as has been Sacked with immediate effect.

West Brom are rigidly sticking to the £2.1million termination clause in Carlos Corberan’s contract as Las Palmas join the race for the Spaniard, according to Marca.

on 14 June that the La Liga side views Corberan as their top candidate, but The Albion have intervened to ensure any talks “hit a wall”.

A fifth-placed Championship finish is a strong foundation to build from as The Albion look to go one better in 2024/25 and seal a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2021.

However, new owner Shilen Patel now has to pull out all the stops to ensure that Corberan stays put at The Hawthorns this summer – losing the Spaniard would represent a huge backward step for any promotion hopes.

Patel’s first transfer window as Baggies’ owner is now shaping up to be all the more vital, and if he wants to remain dining near the Championship’s top table, he must do everything he can to keep Corberan in the fold.
