BREAKING: West Ham United have parted ways with David Moyes as new manager is set to be announced.

Julen Lopetegui seems to be East London bound, and is all set to take over from David Moyes as the new West Ham United manager.

David Moyes continues to struggle in his role as West Ham boss, with Julen Lopetegui thought to be London Stadium bound.

The former Wolves and Real Madrid manager will apparently be the new Hammers boss, with talks between him and the board underway.

Moyes’s time at the club is done, we all know that now. The Scot is incapable of overseeing genuine progress anymore, and bringing in a proper upgrade on the 61-year-old will be crucial.

It seems like that may well not be the case though.

With Lopetegui set to be handed the reins at the London Stadium, a report has just made a fresh claim about talks between the club and the Spaniard…

Julen Lopetegui is seemingly West Ham bound

The former Spain national team coach has been out of work since he left Wolves nine months ago.

However, it seems like he’s now closing in on a return to football management.

According to a report from O Jogo, Lopetegui is deep in discussions with the West Ham owners.

The first set of talks apparently went really well, but I just think we could be on the verge of making a very big mistake by appointing him.

He’s just a Moyes Mark II isn’t he?

During his ill-fated spell in charge of Real Madrid, Lopetegui was described as ‘clueless’ (Daily Express).

I just do not believe that the 57-year-old Spaniard is the man we need to come in and take us on to another level, especially considering the fact that such a huge rebuild is needed at the London Stadium.

His entire footballing philosophy is steeped in defensive solidarity, and the playing style that he implements certainly isn’t easy on the eye.

If Lopetegui is indeed West Ham bound, I just feel like it will be a real sideways step from the club.
