West Bromwich Albion & Stoke City Target Set To Make Key Decision On Future.

West Bromwich Albion transfer target Josh Windass is set to put pen to paper to remain at Sheffield Wednesday after recent speculation about his future, according to the latest reports.

The Sheffield Star revealed back in May that the Baggies and West Midlands rivals Birmingham City were keeping tabs on Windass’ situation at Hillsborough as the playmaker was set to be out of contract at the end of June, having helped the Owls to pull off a miraculous escape in the Championship. Furthermore, the outlet reported that Stoke City and Derby County were also in the running for his signature.

Additionally, on Monday, Football Insider claimed that Coventry City and Hull City had joined the race for the 30-year-old after he bagged seven goals and recorded two assists in 28 appearances to help steer Danny Rohl’s men to safety.

However, the Sheffield Star have provided an update on the pursuit of Windass this summer which will disappoint his many suitors, stating that the attacker is set to sign a new contract to remain at Sheffield Wednesday, keeping him at the club for a sixth season following his arrival from Wigan Athletic back in 2020.

West Bromwich Albion must now look at different transfer targets ahead of the summer market opening next Friday. Carlos Corberan seemed set on bringing more attacking prowess to the squad over the coming months. Brandon Thomas-Asante was the club’s top goalscorer this season but bagged just 12 goals in all competitions.
