Pirates are looking to have a squad overhaul and have earmarked their attacking department as one of need.

Two weeks Souaibou Marou, Fortune Makaringe, Kermit Erasmus, Richard Ofori, Thabang Monare and Siyabonga Mpontshane were all released by Pirates. Those being players who have seen their deals at expire at the club, with management deeming them surplus to requirements. There are still players who are under contract who could be loaned out, sold or see their deals terminated at the Houghton-based outfit.

But there are many other players who have been linked with exits from Pirates ahead of next season. These players could include younger squad members who could be seen as future assets to the club. On the other side of the spectrum, it could be experienced players that the club, which they could be trying to cash in on.

Now out of nowhere, Soccer-Laduma suggests that diminutive midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo’s Pirates future is also in doubt!

“It’s a tight situation for him (Ndlondlo). His future really hangs in the balance as the club (Pirates) is looking at revamping the squad for the next season. They are in talks with him for a loan deal until his contract expires in June next year. Or he could be involved in a permanent move this year. There are clubs interested in him as well but it’s still early stages to say much. But seriously, his future is up for discussion,” Said one source to the publication.

NDLONDLO NEXT?

A second source revealed that Ndlondlo could be on ‘trials’ in their pre-season tour to Spain.

“They (Pirates) will wait until they finalise the new comings before they make his decision and that could be after returning from Europe. So let’s wait until the end of July when they are back then things will be clear that time. But yes, his (Ndlondlo) future hangs in the balance now. He is in limbo as a player,” said the source.
