The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with wide receiver Stanley Morgan.
The former St. Augustine High School standout shined on special teams during his four-year stay with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Mickey Loomis, the New Orleans Saints’ Executive Vice President/General Manager, announced today that the team has reached an agreement with free agency wide receiver Stanley Morgan Jr. on a one-year contract.
Morgan, 6-0, 205, is a four-year NFL veteran who was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2019 by the Cincinnati Bengals from Nebraska. The New Orleans native was a standout at St. Augustine High School and excelled on special teams for the Bengals, making 30 stops (20 solo) in 51 games and collecting five passes for 29 yards.
In 2021, he appeared in all 17 regular season games, starting one, and led the AFC champion Bengals in special teams snaps (312) and tackles (11) while returning two kickoffs for 22 yards, catching two catches for 11 yards, and rushing once for three yards. Morgan appeared in 14 regular-season games in 2022 and shared the Bengals’ lead with 11 special teams tackles. In 2023, he was promoted from the practice squad for three games to play for the Bengals special teams. Morgan appeared in four postseason games for Cincinnati, with one coverage stop in the 2022 playoffs.
Morgan played 49 games for Nebraska from 2015 to 2018 and obliterated the Cornhuskers’ receiving records, finishing with career school records in receptions (189) and receiving yardage (2,747) while also tying for second in receiving touchdowns (22). With 1,004 receiving yards in 2018, he became the first Nebraska athlete to reach that record, catching 70 catches. Morgan was named a first-team Class 5A All-State performance after having 46 receptoions fr 891 yards and eight touchdowns for the Purple Knights during his senior year at St. Augustine.
