David Pollack Loves Georgia Tech Coach’s Intense Remarks About UGA
As the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets finished last season with a relatively improved 7-5 record in its first season under head coach Brent Key, a rekindled bitterness between its in-state rival Georgia Bulldogs has many excited.
During a June 12 Georgia Tech Alumni Association gathering held at the university’s Scheller College of Business, the Yellow Jackets head coach was asked about his feelings towards the Georgia program.
Key, who played right guard for the Yellow Jackets from 1997 to 2000 and defeated the Bulldogs three consecutive seasons during his playing career, chose not to hold back on his response.
“There’s nothing I hate more in the world. It’s probably the only thing I actually hate,” Key stated. “When I say hate, like, truly despise everything about it. I really do.”
This recent critical response from Georgia Tech’s coach drew excitement from ex-ESPN College GameDay figure and legendary former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker David Pollack.
The 31-23 Georgia victory in last season’s meeting at Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium was the closest margin of victory between both programs since the Yellow Jackets’ last victory over the Bulldogs in 2016.
With Key entering his second season at the helm of the Yellow Jackets and the intensity surrounding the rivalry with the Bulldogs rising, the 118th meeting between both programs on Nov. 29 from Georgia’s Sanford Stadium could shape up to be a solid showdown.
