The Los Angeles Angels missed out on another one of their free-agent targets, this time it was outfielder Adam Duvall. He agreed to a deal with the Atlanta Braves on Thursday morning.

The Angels were named as a finalist for Duvall a little over a month ago, but in the end, he heads back to Atlanta. The Halos have been coming up short on multiple of their free-agent targets this winter, so this can be added to the list.

Duvall would have given them another veteran outfielder to work with and he had a solid season with the Boston Red Sox last year. He played in 92 games for Boston, slashing .247/.303/.531 with 21 home runs and 58 runs batted in.

The former All-Star fractured his wrist in April, but thankfully, was able to return in June to finish the rest of the season. His lone All-Star appearance came in 2016 with the Cincinnati Reds, where he hit 33 home runs and drove in 103 runs.

Duvall could have provided more depth in the outfield, potentially allowing Mike Trout to have more time as the designated hitter. The team has been talking about moving him out of center field more this season, as they want to prevent more injuries from taking place.

But it wasn’t meant to be for the Halos and they will now look elsewhere if they want to add to the roster. Duvall holds a career batting average of .232 with 184 home runs and 536 runs batted in.
