Leicester City have made a move to try and beat West Ham to the signing of Coventry City player Callum O’Hare.
The Foxes have been in a sensational battle for promotion all season, but in the last week or so, the club has been able to confirm their promotion and the Championship title.
Leicester’s focus will now be on preparing for the new season, in which they will be a Premier League team, and it seems the club is keen on adding O’Hare to their ranks.
Leicester City register interest in Callum O’Hare
It has been widely reported for some time now that Callum O’Hare’s contract with Coventry City is set to expire at the end of this season.
The 26-year-old has been offered a new deal by the Sky Blues, but it has previously been reported that the offer has been snubbed.
That means O’Hare will end his four-year stay with Coventry after the final game of the season on Saturday.
A player of his talents becoming a free agent has meant several teams have been showing interest, with it being reported that teams such as Aston Villa, West Ham, and Southampton are all keen on the midfielder.
However, according to Football Insider, Leicester City have now tried to get ahead of the pack by registering their interest in O’Hare.
The report states that the Foxes are pushing hard to sign the midfielder this summer, with him eager to prove himself in the Premier League. It adds that O’Hare’s destination is likely to be the Premier League, given the sides interested.
Despite not reaching the Championship play-offs, it has been another memorable season for Coventry City and Callum O’Hare.
The attacking midfielder has had a few injury concerns but has played 30 times in the league, with the final game to come on Saturday.
During those games, the 26-year-old has netted six goals and chipped in with three assists. Plus, O’Hare has four goals and one assist in five FA Cup games this season.
O’Hare has been plagued with injuries during his time with the Sky Blues, but he has had some memorable moments with the club, and this season’s FA Cup run will be another he adds to the collection.
