The Scot extends his deal to stay with the Grecians until 2026

Jack Aitchison has signed a new deal to extend his contract at Exeter City until the end of the 2025/26 season. The 24-year-old had one year remaining on his current deal at St James Park, but has opted to commit his future to the club for a further season.

Aitchison has made 41 appearances for the Grecians this season. He scored four times for the club following his move from Motherwell last summer.

“This was an easy decision for me really,” Aitchison said on the new deal, extending his spell in Devon for a further season.

Yanic Wildschut says staying with Exeter City was an easy decision.

“I’m really happy to be staying another year.”

Yanic Wildschut said it was an easy decision for him to commit to Exeter City for the 2024/25 season. The 32-year-old Surinamese international initially joined the Grecians on a short-term contract shortly after the summer transfer window closed, but such was his form and contribution, that it was extended until the end of the season.

Despite not featuring in the final two matches of the campaign, manager Gary Caldwell said that the Dutch-born flier had been offered fresh terms and he becomes the first player to commit to the Grecians since the season finished.

“It was a very easy decision for me to make,” Wildschut said on signing the new deal. “I’ve really enjoyed my time here, especially the second half of this season where we have been doing really well and I can’t wait to continue this next season.
