High-level recruiters are necessary to attract top talent, and in only his first two weeks on the job, Pope has assembled a team that can compete with any in the nation.
Top Baylor assistant Alvin Brooks III, who has been head coach Scott Drew’s right-hand man for the past eight seasons and led the Bears to the national championship in 2021, is expected to join Pope’s staff, according to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports. In the previous five years, Brooks was also the main recruiter for four of the top ten highest-rated Baylor commits in school history: Langston Love (2020), VJ Edgecombe (2024), Keyonte George (2021), and Ja’Kobe Walter (2022).
