Hawthorn Football Club recently announced the departure of several players, marking the end of their time with the team. The club has parted ways with Josh Morris, Emerson Jeka, and Fionn O’Hara as part of post-season list changes. Morris and Jeka were drafted in 2019, while O’Hara joined as an international recruit in 2021. Morris and Jeka, both dealing with limited opportunities and injuries, made a handful of senior appearances, while O’Hara struggled to secure his AFL debut.
Additionally, ruckman Max Lynch decided to retire earlier this year due to ongoing health concerns. The departures signal a focus on rebuilding under coach Sam Mitchell, as Hawthorn looks to inject fresh talent into the squad during the AFL trade and draft periods.
