SHOCKING SAD NEWS FOR PATRIOTS: Top star goes offseason due to surgery.

A playmaker on the New England Patriots defense has undergone surgery this offseason.

The offseason is the time when players can recover or undergo surgeries for injuries that have been nagging them.

Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones had some bothersome injuries that sprung up in 2023 and he got those straightened out. According to Dakota Randall, Jones underwent surgery on Mar. 27. It’s unclear whether he got work done on his ankle or knee that caused him to miss some time last year.

Jones is seen above in an Instagram post with the caption saying, “In and Out like clock work! Ready to bounce back for the season.”

The Auburn product did miss three games last year due to knee and ankle injuries. Although the specifics of his surgery haven’t been released, it’s a good thing that he’s getting work done before the start of the 2024 season.

Offseason workouts can start on April 1 but training camp doesn’t begin until mid-to-late August.

Even though he didn’t snag an interception in 2023, Jones played well for the Pats. He logged 48 total tackles and seven pass deflections. Per PFF, the 30-year-old had a 76.5 overall grade and an 86 passer rating allowed when targeted.

He now has six months to rehab before the start of the NFL season in September.

With free agency cooling down, New England needs to ace their remaining moves to improve their odds for the 2024 season. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Patriots are +1700 underdogs to win the AFC East. If you want to take lock-in of these odds, head over to FanDuel Sportsbook andclaim your sign-up bonus.
