EXCLUSIVE: Ipswich town have reached agreement with top talented England striker for a 5 years contract.
Ipswich Town are set to launch a formal bid for Chelsea winger Omari Hutchinson in the coming days, as reported by TEAMtalk.
Ipswich Town are heading for the Premier League and with Kieran McKenna committing his future to the club, attention will swiftly turn to transfer business.
The Tractor Boys will be keen to make the most of their top-flight riches and build a team capable of avoiding an immediate drop to the Championship. The odds will be stacked against them though, with all three teams promoted in the 2022/23 campaign coming straight back down.
The permanent signing of loan star Omari Hutchinson would certainly do their chances of avoiding relegation no harm. The Chelsea talent has been the subject of strong speculation in recent weeks.
Now, as per TEAMtalk, Ipswich Town are making their move.
The East Anglian outfit are poised to make a permanent offer for Hutchinson in the coming days. It is not said how much the bid will be, but around £20m is said to be enough to persuade Chelsea to cash in.
An option in the 20-year-old’s contract has been triggered to keep him onboard until 2026, but that may just ramp up the club’s asking price rather than confirm he’ll be staying.
Stuttgart are keen but unlikely to match the asking price, it is added.
It remains to be seen what else Ipswich Town have in the works but if they’re successful in their bid to bring Hutchinson back to the club permanently, he would be the perfect signing to start their summer business.
He’s proven he’s good enough to hold down a first-team role now but at only 20 with just one season of senior football under his best, the most exciting thing is thinking about where he could end up.
A permanent move for the Redhill-born star could see him grow and develop under the watch of McKenna, who will be sure to nurture him as he kicks on in his exciting career.
It would be a popular signing among fans and a statement of intent upon the Tractor Boys’ return to the big time to make a signing for potentially as much as £20m.
It’s known that Ipswich Town are well backed financially but a move of that size would confirm that as they make yet another step up.
