Chicago Bears kicker Cairo Santos has signed a four-year contract extension through the 2027 season.
The deal is valued at $16 million, with $9.5 million guaranteed. Santos, 32, has been with the Bears since 2020 and is the most accurate kicker in franchise history, converting 90.5% of his field-goal attempts (105 of 116). This season, he has made 93.1% of his field goals (27 of 29), including 6 of 6 from 50 yards and beyond. In November, Santos was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month after connecting on 12 of 14 field goals and all five extra points in four games. General Manager Ryan Poles praised Santos’ consistency and dependability, stating that his performance will help the team continue to elevate. Santos’ extension ensures that the Bears retain one of the league’s most reliable kickers for the foreseeable future.
