As of January 19, 2025, Eddie George has not been signed as the new head coach of the Chicago Bears. However, reports indicate that George is scheduled to interview for the position. Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that George will meet with the Bears’ management on Sunday morning.
Eddie George, a former Heisman Trophy winner and four-time Pro Bowl running back, has been the head coach at Tennessee State University since 2021. Under his leadership, the Tigers have shown consistent improvement, culminating in a 9–4 record in the 2024 season and earning a share of the Big South–Ohio Valley Conference title. This achievement led to George being named the Big South–OVC Coach of the Year.
In May 2023, George participated in the NFL’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the Chicago Bears, gaining valuable experience with the team’s coaching staff.
While George’s interview with the Bears signifies mutual interest, no official hiring decision has been announced. The Bears are conducting a comprehensive search for their next head coach, and George’s candidacy is part of this ongoing process.
